About the Programme:
This two year full time master degree programme in Commerce is a combination of various fields of commerce including the traditional accountancy, finance, marketing and human resource management. The prime objective of the programme is, introducing the students to the developments in the corporate world and business initiatives of contemporary times. In the process, the programme would orient the students keen on taking entrepreneurial and start-up initiatives in emerging sectors. The syllabi of the course are focused to understand the structure and concerns of the contemporary economy, society, and polity; the world of business, financial markets, and regulatory measures including taxation measures and consumer behaviour. In addition to the focus on garnering in-depth knowledge on evolving fields, the applied aspects of the degree programme focus on entrepreneurship development, reading the developments in the emerging markets, nonetheless considering the ecology and environmental factors, training on accounting and IT related aspects, English communication and academic writing, and with in-depth approaches for research in business. Preparation of detailed project report (DPR), and financial and economic analysis on development initiatives/interventions/projects would be vital components of the programme. The students in the fourth semester shall devote time to study practices of specific firms and industrial or entrepreneurial activities as intern or researcher and produce a dissertation having relevance to economy and policy. Successful completion of course work and dissertation in the fourth semester would enable a student to earn altogether 84 credits for a postgraduate degree in Commerce.

Admission Procedure: Admission shall be based purely on merit basis. Candidates must clear the Cotton Post Graduate Entrance Examination (CPGEE) held by Cotton University to be eligible to apply for the programme.
